Mobile Device Policy

Phones Away. Minds Engaged.

Beginning in the 2026–27 school year, students at elementary, K–8 and middle schools will keep personal mobile devices stored and inaccessible throughout the entire school day, including lunch and recess.

This change is designed to reduce distractions, increase engagement, and encourage more face-to-face interactions. Students may still bring phones and other personal mobile devices to school; however, devices must remain stored and inaccessible during the school day.

At Charles Peck, students will be asked to turn devices off and keep them in their backpacks, or follow their teacher’s directions for device storage.

Please note: Students who bring a cell phone to school must have a Mobile Device Contract on file. Contracts will be provided at the beginning of the school year. Families needing an additional copy may contact the school office.

Families can continue to contact students through the school office when needed, and students will have access to office support if they need to reach a parent or guardian. School emergency communication procedures will remain unchanged.

Thank you for partnering with us to create a focused, supportive learning environment for all Panthers!
