Positive Behavior Intervention & Support (PBIS)
Positive Behavior Support (PBS) at Our School
School-wide Positive Behavior Support (PBS) is a framework that uses both school-wide and individualized strategies to help all students succeed socially and academically while preventing or reducing problem behaviors. Our PBS approach includes:
-
Teaching and recognizing positive social skills through programs like Panther Paws-itives
-
Clear and fair responses to help students learn from challenging behaviors
-
Ongoing data collection to guide decisions and supports
For students with greater behavioral needs, we provide more intensive, personalized supports. The goals of our PBS program are to prevent problem behaviors, reduce ongoing challenges, and create a positive, safe, and predictable school environment where every student can learn, grow, and thrive.
PBIS (Character Trait) Award Assemblies
We’re excited to hold our monthly character trait assemblies! Our traits include kindness, respect, gratitude, responsibility, cooperation/collaboration, friendship, honesty/integrity, growth mindset, and perseverance. Each month, teachers select three students who have demonstrated outstanding citizenship in connection with the month’s focus trait. Whenever possible, we gather to celebrate these students—though at times, health concerns such as flu, RSV, or COVID-19 may prevent in-person assemblies. These events are one way we foster a positive, safe, and supportive school environment.
